Friday Fight 45 - Visualize to Utilize

Every Friday, when I wake and pray, God places something on my heart to help me fight darkness beginning in our minds. Today is FF45.

How many of us struggle with prayer being unsure of what to say or feel inadequate due to our sinful nature? You and me both! We have all felt that way at one point or another.

Visualize to Utilize:

What comes to mind during prayer? Do we feel God’s grace, or does our shameful past devour our thoughts? Maybe we compare ourselves to some we believe pray eloquently or others who we believe sin differently. Well, all of us fall into two groups; sinners and sinners saved by grace. Therefore, we all need to repent. Thankfully, no sins are beyond God's forgiveness, but He does ask that we forgive one another as He forgives us.

Let's try a visualization:

God placed this analogy regarding prayer on my father's heart, then decades later, my heart.

Imagine a wide bridge formed from our prayers leading directly to God. Our faith is the foundation. When praying, visualize the conversation with God (bridge) holding whatever, a person, church, or even a country. Our prayers are placed at God’s throne and our repetition creates strength. God works in those who pray and those placed on the bridge as well.

A person who humbly prays comes to realize how weakness and strength can reside together in the same soul. In prayer, we find a true awareness of our own weakness, and through prayer, we grow to trust that God will work in and through anyone who obediently prays. Those who pray become a wide bridge to all humanity, and man's brokenness is safely placed before Him. Without our prayers, some people or situations may never have otherwise been placed before Him. God can minister to anything on this bridge as He promises in His Word.

The enemy of our souls will try everything to prevent prayer. Darkness wants to contaminate and dismantle our bridge, so no one is ever placed before God.

I hope this analogy helps with spending time in prayer. Partner together when possible and speak God's truth to each other. When we pray, our words of prayer form a beautiful bridge. Prayer is a wide bridge, be a bridge!
