Friday Fight 44 - Faith Displayed or Faith Dismantled?

Every Friday, when I wake and pray, God places something on my heart to help me fight darkness beginning in our minds. Today is FF44.

How often do we feel God leading us to do something but are then filled with confusion? Maybe the timing feels off, it's complicated, or we have too much to lose. We wait, hoping our confusion will quickly cease. How faithful are we when God calls, but we take our time answering?

Faith Displayed or Faith Dismantled?

We all have times when we have either stepped forward in faith or remained frozen in fear. Our decision to respond to God's call can help our faith grow, but knowing deep within what God is asking and not answering can slowly dismantle our faith. We want to be obedient, but we struggle. Our obedience may not be heroic, glamorous, or easy. The Holy Spirit is a gentleman and waits patiently. But, what blessings are being delayed due to our delayed response?

Ten years ago, God placed it on my heart to clean my church building. Did I hear correctly? My church is huge, and it did not seem practical as a full-time teacher. It would also impact my family time, which was more confusing. But I trust God more than I trust myself, so I was compliant.

I learned quickly that cleaning meant having access to pray alone. I love prayer, so I prayed over every area I cleaned. Two years later, God placed coming blessings on my heart to follow my obedience. Those blessings were unclear at first, but God is faithful, and before long, I was co-leading the prayer ministry, teaching classes, and became a pastor. Over the last decade, God has allowed me to teach and pray with hundreds of people, and it blesses my soul tremendously.

Repeated lies from darkness can cause us to constantly question God's calling on our lives. Eventually, our faith is dismantled, and we never experience the fullness that obedience brings.

Please encourage someone around you who is struggling with something God has asked them to do. Let's work together on responding to God's call the first time He asks. Whatever it is, it will bring us to who He created us to be.
