Friday Fight 43 - Worrier or Warrior?

Every Friday, when I wake and pray, God places something on my heart to help me fight darkness beginning in our minds. Today is FF43.

How often are we preoccupied when we begin praying? At times, we all deal with feeling inadequate or wondering if our prayers will be answered. Perhaps, like me, we worry about the circumstances surrounding our prayers?

Worrier or Warrior:

Prayer for someone is different than praying with someone. We need to know that we are not responsible for those we lift in prayer. Our hearts break for those suffering, which can cause us to worry. So, how can we remove the worrier in us and remain a warrior in Him?

My posts are limited by length, sadly condensing this miraculous story. In 2019, I received a prayer request for a man who overdosed. Unfortunately, he was not breathing and had no pulse. Even after receiving CPR for 12 minutes, this is rarely survivable.

I went about my day but continued praying. Later I felt the Holy Spirit leading me to the hospital to pray in person. What? How? I didn't even know him! The constant heaviness led my friend and I to the hospital. The worry of failed scenarios immediately filled my mind.

Jeff had tubes everywhere, bound hands, and a faint pulse; not expected to live. I took his hand, rubbed it with my thumb, and prayed. I returned every day as other people were oddly canceling plans. Praying continued all week, but I still worried about upsetting his parents, disappointing God, and seeming insane. I cried over Jeff's beautiful heart. Finally, after six days, Jeff was sitting up, questioning who I was with no tubes! Lifting his hand, I began rubbing it with my thumb; he remembered!

Darkness destroys us by placing every possible failure in our minds to stop us. I began heading home on day three, worried about upsetting his parents. I continued to feel a little crazy.

On day 7, we talked and prayed together! Jeff learned that God had a plan for his life but had no idea what that plan entailed. He has no permanent damage and experienced a miracle! Let's pray about allowing God to use us to be part of His glory and not let the worrier stop the warrior.
