Friday Fight 37 - Spiritually Booked or Spiritually Blocked?

Every Friday, when I wake and pray, God places something on my heart to help me fight darkness beginning in our minds. Today is FF37.

All of us experience changes in our spiritual lives. But what happens when we do everything we have been doing for God yet not growing? We want to do so much but not enough hours in the day, so we pack our schedules, making every attempt to please God. Why does it feel like we are not growing?

Spiritually Booked or Spiritually Blocked?

Ever feel like you are booking your calendar for God? It is incredible to serve God and others, and it is nicely displayed on our schedule each week. Watching plans succeed while moving on to the next calendar week is satisfying. But what about the things that aren't planned? Do we have many completely open days? Do we make room on our calendar for God to move through us, allowing us to grow, or is our schedule so full there is no room?

To help understand this lesson, I am going to share something personal. A few years ago, God placed a fast on my heart - a fast of my schedule; I know what you're thinking, but stick with me. Besides work and dinner, I didn't plan anything for one month. It was weird not to know what I was doing or meeting with, but I canceled my plans for 30 days. God placed on my heart to block my schedule for Him and those He wanted on it. After that, I understood the valuable lesson; I never left any room for God to move incredibly.

How does darkness work? Darkness attempts to discourage growing Christians by ensuring they are comfortable, complacent, and stagnant through lies.

How do we fight? Pray about dedicating a block of time to God, allowing Him to be our scheduler. Pray with the expectation that God will fill your time with His plan and not ours.

We all want to make the most of our day but consider how that truly limits God's movement when our schedules are packed. Making time for God is not just about making time to pray and read Scripture; it's allowing God to move and experience growth in ways we never have before.
