Friday Fight 30 - Resting or Wrestling?

Every Friday, when I wake and pray, God places something on my heart to help me fight darkness beginning in our minds. Today is FF30.

How many of us are super busy, feeling tired, and need rest? When we are physically tired, we tend to make poor decisions to merely satisfy our need to remove things from plates. However, if we make poor decisions when physically tired, how does that influence our spiritual life?

Resting or Wrestling?

It feels good to remove things from our plates. However, when tired, our choice-making can be compromised, and we look back later and question ourselves. An impulsive choice can be settling on a car purchase after exhaustively searching or consuming food out of the norm because the thought of another option is irritating. We make quick decisions when we are tired simply to move on to the following thing, only to look back and question our decision.

This series of posts called Friday Fight can imply movement, but it reiterates that spiritual warfare begins in the mind. My goal is to share various combat stances for what bombards the mind. Rather than seeking instant resolutions we can build our spiritual endurance by choosing to be still.

Our faith enables the confidence that God has us covered. We experience God's glory and the blessings of obedience while our faith covers us, allowing us to rest instead of wrestle.

How does darkness work? Darkness uses doubt to trick us to rapid conclusions. We feel surrounded and pressured by the decision, but the truth is God always surrounds us. When we go before God's timing, it can directly impact the plan He has for our lives.

How do we fight? We fight with our faith. Be persistently still while walking in God's purpose for our lives. Trust that God will go before us and declare a victory over our enemies.

Yes, we make decisions, but after we pray and pause. Allow Him to eradicate some of the decisions we face. Sometimes we find ourselves responding to situational, emotional, or circumstantial things, but we need to remember we are a product of His plan for our lives as well.

Let's reserve ourselves for His purposes and watch Him move on our behalf.
