Friday Fight 18 - When Outlook Changes Outcome

Every Friday, when I wake and pray, God places something on my heart to help me fight darkness beginning in the mind. Today is FF18.

How do we feel when our entire day changes unexpectedly? So many things bring about change like this. Maybe a vacation is canceled, or car repairs prevent a trip after much anticipation. Perhaps your job brings you to a new city with no family, which feels unsupported. We can change jobs or even our workout routines, but what about the shift that immediately brings to our mind the uncertainty of tomorrow?

When Outlook Changes Outcome:

Why do we fear change so much? Must we know every part of our tomorrow that we attempt to maintain control at any cost? We fight change to avoid our discomfort. If God is changing some area of our lives, we may feel uncomfortable, confused, unsupported, or unable to unpack what is in front of us. But God is so much bigger than what our minds can comprehend. What if fear is too overwhelming? When our fear of change blocks a blessing, our outlook changes our outcome. So many things are connected through a transition.

There are definable moments of change, but how does darkness work in these shifts? Satan doesn't want us to recall the moment we forgave someone or humbled ourselves, taking ownership of our mistakes by apologizing rather than deflecting. Instead, lies flood our minds telling us small changes are monumental instead of minuscule. The enemy lies about God changing with various situations to break our trust. However, our biggest struggle with significant change is the battle within ourselves.

How do we fight? Focus on God; everything else becomes irrelevant. God uses change to promote intimacy with Him. God takes any weapon formed against us and turns it around and uses it for His glory. Every good and perfect gift comes from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. We change. God doesn't. Do not worry about tomorrow; God is there. Let Him change your situation and your heart. Changed people change others, changed people change outcomes. Don't let your outlook change the outcome God has planned.
