Friday Fight 159: Our Testimony and the Trinity

Every Friday, when I wake and pray, God places something on my heart to help me fight darkness beginning in our minds. Today is FF159.

As Christians, the concept of 'testimony' is a universal thread that binds us, serving as a potent instrument to share the transformative power of God in our lives. When we meditate on the term, it should evoke a sense of unity and belonging. While the specifics may differ, the common thread that weaves through testimonies is the personal encounter with God's goodness. Our testimonies are not just about us; they are a testament to God's love and mercy. This invites others to witness and experience His transformative power.

Our Testimony and the Trinity:

Let's delve deeper into the concept of 'testimony' by exploring how it is intricately intertwined with the Trinity (the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit). For those of us who may feel that we do not have a testimony to share, let's reconsider. A testimony is our story, a narrative that unfolds our personal experience of the fullness of the Trinity and our transformed hearts. This transformation could result from past experiences, a miraculous healing, or a moment when the natural turned supernatural. Our story could also be about experiencing the miracle of forgiveness found through Christ's birth, burial, and resurrection. When God leads us into deep waters and asks us to trust Him, our obedience to the voice of the Holy Spirit and acceptance of His gentle correction enables it. The Lord has promised to redeem us from our brokenness so long as we surrender to Him. It then becomes our responsibility to share our redemption. Psalm 107:2 says, “Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he has redeemed from trouble.”

We may feel we do not have a testimony to share, and reflection can be perplexing. To understand this better, we must realize how the fullness of the Trinity is crucial to experiencing God's redemption. One of the struggles I encounter most when speaking with people is their dislike of being corrected. People will go to great lengths to avoid being wrong rather than taking ownership of their sins. When our repeated sins hurt others, the Holy Spirit gently corrects us. Through the blood of Christ, with our sins revealed through correction, we repent, and we can experience God's grace. Accepting Christ as our Lord and Savior allows us to receive God’s plan for our lives.

Our testimony is not about us or anything we can do without the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. While our abilities can be measured, God cannot. He is infinite. Our story is powerful because God is powerful, omnipotent, and transcendent, existing beyond what we can imagine. Our testimony changes our hearts, which should always point to God's sovereignty. Let's look at where we need to be to share our story, then allow our transformed hearts to tell the story of His hand in our lives. This transformation is what makes our testimonies so impactful and inspiring.
