Friday Fight 14 - The Hindrance of Our Time

Every Friday, when I wake and pray, God places something on my heart to help me fight darkness beginning in the mind. Today is FF14.

How many times do we wish a weekend would never end? Or wish the time it takes to buy a new house would speed up? How many of us have long lists but cannot figure out where the time went. We realize it just keeps getting longer, will it never end?

The Hindrance of Our Time:

All of us have endured hurts, struggles, and uncertainty. How we respond, the time it takes to give those challenges to God, and the delay in moving forward is another clever ploy from darkness, the hindrance of our time. Think about a painful life experience; all of us have suffered and need time to heal. But we need to be mindful of how much time is lost, shut down because of regret or guilt. You’re unable to genuinely love God and others.

Every day is a gift from God; how we spend our time is up to us. Simply surviving past days that nearly broke us is not truly living. We need to take a look at how we spend our time. What is filling our minds? Let's value our time by focusing on people in front of us. It will help us move forward inside God’s will and plan.

How do we fight? Do not believe the lie that this painful experience caused you to “lose years of your life”. You will lose more time being shut down by this deception. We are essentially dragging the death of a past season into the growth of another season. The enemy plans to steal, kill and destroy our joy.

Pray for trust, not understanding. God always turns all our hurts around and uses it for His glory. Darkness will always attempt to resist and oppose the will of God in our lives through obstacles designed to debilitate us. Reflect on where you have been, but then focus and pray for where you are going.

Have you ever considered how small the rear-view mirror is in a car in comparison to the windshield? We catch a small glimpse of what’s behind us, but our attention needs to be focused forward. We need to look ahead and see where we’re going. It's more important. Give your time and focus to God and keep going.
