Friday Fight 68 - World of Worrying or World of Working?

Every Friday, when I wake and pray, God places something on my heart to help me fight darkness beginning in our minds. Today is FF68.

How often do we find ourselves worrying about things outside of our control? I know I do! Sometimes we need a little reminder of where our attention should go. How often do we let things we cannot control into our thoughts?

World of Worrying or World of Working?

Imagine two different worlds with all their possibilities, amenities, and growth working together for one main goal. Yes, in each world, things happen, and we must address hurdles and setbacks. But in moving forward in spiritual growth, imagine choosing which world we want to spend our time experiencing.

World of Worrying:

In this world, we find all the things we can't control but still worry about anyways. This world brings negativity and the burden of false weight that consumes us, limiting what God can do in and through us. Possible attributes of our worry:

  • Others' opinions of us

  • If love will or will not be reciprocated

  • Actions/reactions of others

  • Another person's spiritual walk

  • How do others take care of or contaminate themselves

  • How others treat others and themselves

  • Another person's political beliefs

  • Other people's relationships

  • Finances of others

  • Past hurts

  • Negative talk about us or others

  • Time (past or future)

  • Health and well-being of others (we can contribute to but not control the outcome)

It’s important to remember that we cannot control another person's spiritual life through prayer. However, we can submit ourselves to God and His will and trust the Holy Spirit to work and move in their lives through prayer.

World of Working :

This is a beautiful place where we can work on ourselves by addressing the things in our lives we can control. Here are some things to remember when your day suddenly turns upside down with restlessness, anxiety, or hopelessness. Just to make sure you are standing in the correct place.

  • Our own opinion

  • How we love ourselves and others

  • Our actions and reactions

  • Our spiritual walk

  • Our health and well-being

  • How we treat others and ourselves

  • Our political beliefs

  • Our relationships

  • Our finances

  • How we deal with our past hurts

  • Negative self-talk

  • Boundaries

  • Time (present)

Darkness works intently to entice us to visit the world of worrying manipulatively. Once there, the goal is that we never leave. It doesn't take long to form habits, including the pattern of worrying.

A world of work will give you a free mind to enjoy a life of peace from God. Worrying robs us of everything God represents and diminishes our faith. It brings negativity to our minds. This is not an easy task, but please make a conscious effort to pray and think positively. Focus on the things we can control. Let God fill you with His peace, wisdom, and knowledge to continue working another day.
