Friday Fight 26 - 11:59: God's Power in the 11th hour:
Every Friday, when I wake and pray, God places something on my heart to help me fight darkness beginning in our minds. Today is FF26.
How many times has something beautifully shifted in our favor at the last minute? Feeling like things are not going to work out, but at the last moment, God reveals His incredible power.
11:59: God's Power in the 11th hour:
God does His best work at 11:59. God is always powerful, but this phrase refers to undeniably recognizing His power during this time and its impact against darkness. Getting to that 11th hour is not easy; it can be uncomfortable and leave us doubtful. We wait for God to move but grow impatient and rely on our strength instead.
My father passed away in 2011, the same week as we were selling our home. Horrible week! But God graciously led us to a house available for rent. We prayed as a family, but they denied us because of our dog. We felt God opened this door (literally), leaving us quite confused. Processing my dad's quick demise and the uncertainty of where to live was overwhelming for us, but we chose to remain faithful and pray. Days later, a text revealed the owners had a change of heart; the house was immediately available. The text came while in church listening to my father's favorite song. Experiencing God's power at 11:59 left no other explanation, absolutely all God.
How often have we experienced the perfect timing of another person in our lives? Perhaps it was a surprise bonus covering the unexpected car repairs or a job or home unfolding right before you with no understanding of how or any foreseeable explanation—all God’s power in the 11th hour.
How does darkness work? Satan fills us with worry hoping this incredible 11th hour will never come. In our fears, we rely on our strength and go ahead of God, never to experience His power and grace in this way.
How do we fight? Give all to God in prayer, then trust Him to fulfill our needs. Also, reflect on times when God revealed His power at the last minute and share those stories with others.
Let's give God our struggles and uncertainties. God intentionally shows Himself at 11:59, leaving no room for others to take the credit.
Please share your 11:59 stories in the comments!
