Friday Fight 200: God's First Responders
Every Friday, when I wake and pray, God places something on my heart to help fight darkness beginning in our minds. Today is FF200.
We are well into the new year, and here we are, 200 posts later. Being encouraged to reflect, I am sharing the progression of these posts and how God has graciously moved in this process. Back in 2021, the Holy Spirit prompted me to share a lesson. However, I was not a big social media person. Although hesitant, I shared what began as these Friday Fight posts. We have no idea what God is doing until we say yes and allow Him to reveal His plan. I have been sharing lessons I learned from Him through awareness, direction, and correction.
God's First Responders is a name born years ago through a friend's prayer. I was in a place where answering a call included praying with people in homes, hospitals, schools, and churches. While it began locally, it was clear that the Holy Spirit led and confirmed different areas across the country and world to share and pray. God's First Responders have prayed in areas inside and outside of our country, contributing to the spiritual growth of so many people. But please let me be clear: this is not a me thing; it is all God.
Almost 10 years later, God's First Responders now includes sharing what God reveals, praying, writing, teaching, traveling, and posting. I have a group of people who walk alongside me: pastors, editors, and prayer warriors, to name a few. There have been painful lessons, new levels of spiritual warfare, and sacrifices from those I love most.
Responding in prayer does not always mean leaving your home or boarding an airplane; it can simply be a prayer. Every situation is different, and it is most important to worship Him for all He is doing continually. I wish this post had time and space to share all the wonderful testimonies and support we have received in answering God's calling. So many of you reading this post were part of this journey, and only through Him and by Him is all this possible. Philippians 4:6 says “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Each day we surrender to God, we are guided by the only one who knows our destiny.
Until last month, this ministry existed outside the church's umbrella, and my God fund covered ministry expenses. This fund was a separate account that held donated money to be used as God revealed: He faithfully provided through others. Whenever funds were unavailable, I would pay for any ministry expenses using my credit card. Since this GFR ministry was not officially affiliated with any church or receiving any financial support outside of donations from others or myself, I never looked into doing things any other way.
It all changed as God recently opened another door. New Life Calvert has graciously agreed to hold donated funds under the church's accountability until needed. Now, anything given allows the giver to receive a charitable tax deduction. What a blessing and tremendous confirmation that God is beginning another new chapter for God's First Responders. We will continue to move and share as directed by the Holy Spirit and now under the church's authority and prayer.
If you would like to help in any way, please message me. If you have been one of the many who have asked about donating, feel free to click the link below and note God's First Responders. If you are reading this, we request that you consider coming alongside us in prayer as we respond to the Holy Spirit's leading and God's protection. Also, if you have any prayer requests, please message me or use the website submission form.
