Friday Fight 39 - Inside or Outside God's Will
Every Friday, when I wake and pray, God places something on my heart to help me fight darkness beginning in our minds. Today is FF39.
How often do we switch directions, wondering if our decision is inside or outside God's will? We walk with Christ and doors open, yet we question which path to walk. Have you ever thought about what happens to us spiritually when we choose the most appealing door instead of the one God is leading us to?
Inside or Outside God's Will:
My pastor shared an analogy about God's will not being a narrow path; instead, imagine a four-lane highway with room to move between the lanes. Since we have the freedom to maneuver, leaving God's will is an intentional exit.
The truth, Christ died for everyone and will chase us as we run from Him. But, what does it look like to intentionally walk outside of God's will for our lives? Let's look at the following areas:
God's direction: We are led by the Holy Spirit but walking away blocks the Holy Spirit's movement and can reject future blessings.
Our Sin: Remaining in God's plan releases us from evil through redemption. When we exit onto a fleshy freeway, we gravitate to others with defiant hearts.
Our Healing: Embracing His will offers continued healing, but rejecting His call, makes us targets for darkness. Our wounds are agitated, and we can damage others.
Our Prayers: In His will, we tend to pray for others. Straying from His will changes our focus to only ourselves.
The weapon darkness uses? Satan will pretend to be God and speak lies accordingly. He tells those who walk outside God's will how close they are to God and compliments their obedience. He lies to those inside God's will, telling them they aren't close to God and they should change directions.
What is our fighting stance? Ask yourself who is telling you that you aren't close to God? Also, if you feel distant from God, pray.
Walking outside of God's will is intentional and requires removal from His path. Outside of God's will, we become a person of latency. However, inside His will, we become people of God's legacy. We become difference-makers for His kingdom. Let’s be difference-makers together.
